At Directions Group, our mission has always been to accelerate the growth across Canada. Today, that mission takes a meaningful step forward through a new partnership with Karbon-X Corp., a leading climate solutions provider known for its innovative approach to carbon credit development.

This collaboration centers around an exciting initiative: a first-of-its-kind residential solar carbon offset project that aligns with Alberta’s Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) program. TIER is one of Canada’s most rigorous carbon pricing frameworks and enables large industrial emitters to purchase certified carbon offset credits instead of paying higher carbon levies.

Through this project, homeowners who install solar systems will now be eligible to generate verified, tradeable carbon credits. These credits can be sold to major emitters participating in the TIER system, providing a new layer of financial benefit to going solar while making a direct contribution to Alberta’s emissions reduction goals.

Our role in the partnership focuses on what we do best: activating and managing growth at scale. We’ll be working closely with homeowners and installation partners to connect them with this new opportunity, supporting the engagement, education, and end-to-end process of participation. Karbon-X, with its deep expertise in carbon project development and verification, will ensure the program meets all regulatory standards and delivers high-integrity environmental results.

This is more than a business collaboration, it’s a systemic shift in how we value clean energy adoption at the household level. For the first time, Alberta homeowners will have a clear and credible path to participate in the carbon economy, turning their solar investment into measurable, marketable environmental outcomes.

We believe this program offers a powerful incentive for solar adoption in Alberta, particularly as utility costs continue to rise and climate concerns grow. It also creates a scalable blueprint for similar initiatives across Canada, blending carbon finance with grassroots energy transition.

As we look ahead, our team is energized by the impact this partnership can deliver, not just in verified carbon reductions, but in the empowerment of everyday Canadians to be part of meaningful climate action.

Let’s build a cleaner, smarter, more rewarding energy future, together.
